The Cranks are a 3 person band featuring twins Connor Gowland (drums, backup vocals) and Haley Gowland (vocals. guitar) along with Alex Markoski (bass, backup vocals).
Visit the Sunset Tiki Bar on August 19, 2012 from 5:00pm-8:00pm to watch them perform live, free of charge.
The Cranks offer indie alt-rock, captivating melodies, and female vocals in the forefront with songwriting you would expect from veterans. Their demeanor is genuinely positive and always conveys a sense of humor. They rock, but aren’t angry about it.
The Cranks win battles, are getting radio play, have over 1,000 Facebook fans and win over audiences wherever they play. Their 2nd CD, “Downside Up” is an energetic batch of one-of-a-kind lyric themes and stick-in-your-head melodies.
The Cranks Sound
The Cranks are often compared to female-fronted powerhouses of the past like Blondie and The Pretenders, and more recently described by fans as “Paramore meets Sublime”. The Cranks write, record and perform upbeat alternative rock with guitar, bass, drums and big vocals. The Cranks can morph their performances to be suitable in acoustic settings as well as rock shows. You can find more info about The Cranks on their website, listen to their music on SoundCloud, watch their videos on YouTube, and purchase singles on iTunes.
Haley and Alex have each been playing solo gigs all summer at the Sunset Tiki Bar & Grill.
